Christian Homeschooling: How Do You Know You Can Homeschool High School?

How To Homeschool
A great scriptural answer to the question "how do you know you can homeschool high school?" can be found in Psalm 139: 13-16, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful…”  Your child was given to YOU. You are the perfect parents for your child and your child is the perfect child for your family! Together, the two of you were meant to do this and that’s how you know you’ll be successful.
Also, think about Philippians 4:13 where it says, “I can do all this through Him who strengthens me.” That will include homeschooling high school! Also, 1Peter 4:8 says, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” When something goes wrong, you can know that you can still homeschool high school because the love that you have for your child is going to cover everything!
Your child has been given to you; you have been given to your child. You make the perfect partnership for homeschooling high school and you know that you are capable because God will provide what you need, to do the job for which you’ve been called to do. And you know that when difficult steps occur, it’s going to be okay because the love for your child is going to cover all that. The scriptures say a lot about raising a child, but the Bible does not say anything about forking your child over to a saint. It’s all about the parent and the child. Even when it talks about "render unto Caesar", it does not talk about your children. Your children have been given to you.
Also in scripture, God often provides step by step answers to problems that are faced. When Jesus changed the water to wine at the wedding at Cana, He did not tell His servants to change the water into wine; that would have been slightly overwhelming. Instead, he broke it down into three steps:
  1. Fill jars with water.
  2. Draw water out of jars.
  3. Take a drink to the master.
You do not have to graduate your child today and get them into this or that college. Jesus tells us to take one step at a time. So when you listen to me about college preparation and peruse all the resources available at www.TheHomeScholar.com, think about all the things that I talk about, but remember that you do not have to do them all today. Think about the options; think about what step to take today and what step to take on the succeeding days to come. You are not in charge of changing water into wine, you are in charge of doing just that one thing for today that is required of you – one step at a time through homeschooling high school!
