Know The Benefits Of Homeschool Your High School Children!

To homeschool your child is definitely a good way to keep your child close to you every time. By homeschooling you can help your child to grow in a better way. Doing so, you also get an opportunity to tailor your child’s education. Other than knowing how to homeschool your children, you should also know the benefits of homeschooling. Read further to know the benefits which you and your child will be benefited from while homeschooling.

Benefits Of Homeschool

There are many people who think, by homeschooling, the result of children may suffer in the long term. But it is not so. You can always customize the study sessions as per your child’s interest. Along with studies, you can also encourage children to participate in other social activities. It has been observed that children perform far better when taught in the familiar environment of home rather than in any public or private school.

The famous names in the history such as Benjamin Franklin, Florence Nightingale, Winston Churchill and Thomas Edison are some of the finest examples of homeschooling. Other than teaching, you can also introduce your child to a number of volunteer programs where they can interact with others and do what they want to do. This is something that allows a child to develop socially and have a strong metal. Homeschooling also helps in protecting your child from the peer pressure that is very much a part of school life.

The other most important benefit of homeschooling is that the child develops a strong bond with the parent which is not possible otherwise. Studies have also shown that children are able to understand the family values and also have an escalated feeling of self-esteem and self-confidence.

When you are homeschooling your children, you can easily make them learn your religious values and also adopt them. This is definitely an advantage of homeschooling because public schools do not engage in any type of religious education.

All the above mentioned reasons certainly make you switch to homeschooling. But when you want to homeschool your high school children at home, you certainly need to take assistance. There are many homeschoolers who help you with all the subject and other homeschooling related problems. If, you are also thinking to adopt the method of homeschooling for your kid, just search homeschoolers online.

Christian Homeschooling: How Do You Know You Can Homeschool High School?

How To Homeschool
A great scriptural answer to the question "how do you know you can homeschool high school?" can be found in Psalm 139: 13-16, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful…”  Your child was given to YOU. You are the perfect parents for your child and your child is the perfect child for your family! Together, the two of you were meant to do this and that’s how you know you’ll be successful.
Also, think about Philippians 4:13 where it says, “I can do all this through Him who strengthens me.” That will include homeschooling high school! Also, 1Peter 4:8 says, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” When something goes wrong, you can know that you can still homeschool high school because the love that you have for your child is going to cover everything!
Your child has been given to you; you have been given to your child. You make the perfect partnership for homeschooling high school and you know that you are capable because God will provide what you need, to do the job for which you’ve been called to do. And you know that when difficult steps occur, it’s going to be okay because the love for your child is going to cover all that. The scriptures say a lot about raising a child, but the Bible does not say anything about forking your child over to a saint. It’s all about the parent and the child. Even when it talks about "render unto Caesar", it does not talk about your children. Your children have been given to you.
Also in scripture, God often provides step by step answers to problems that are faced. When Jesus changed the water to wine at the wedding at Cana, He did not tell His servants to change the water into wine; that would have been slightly overwhelming. Instead, he broke it down into three steps:
  1. Fill jars with water.
  2. Draw water out of jars.
  3. Take a drink to the master.
You do not have to graduate your child today and get them into this or that college. Jesus tells us to take one step at a time. So when you listen to me about college preparation and peruse all the resources available at www.TheHomeScholar.com, think about all the things that I talk about, but remember that you do not have to do them all today. Think about the options; think about what step to take today and what step to take on the succeeding days to come. You are not in charge of changing water into wine, you are in charge of doing just that one thing for today that is required of you – one step at a time through homeschooling high school!

Job Sharing Your Homeschool With Jesus

Job Sharing With JesusWhen my son was in 2nd grade in the public school, he had two teachers that were job-sharing his classroom.  One worked 3 days a week, and the other worked 3 days a week.  On Wednesday they both worked together.   They did some team teaching, and had long discussions, brainstorming with each other about the best way to deal with each child.  Unfortunately, one of them left on maternity leave and their plan sort of fell apart...

When my son was in 3rd grade in the public school, again he had two teachers that were job-sharing.  These two teachers combined both groups of students into one huge class.  One of them lectured while the other worked with small groups of students on a separate task.  Sometimes they worked as a whole group of 60 kids, with two teachers watching over them.  Both teachers were great, but again one of them left on maternity leave and the plans went out the window again.  Team teaching was great when it worked.  Each teacher had their strengths, and they compensated for each other’s weaknesses.  However, nobody is perfect, and situations do arise.

Do you think God would be a good homeschool teacher?  Would you do a better job educating your children if Jesus was right there with you?  Have you ever considered that you are job-sharing your homeschool with Jesus?  Check out these scriptures and look for similarities:
  • John 14:17 But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
  • John 14:20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
  • Colossians 1:27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
  • Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
  • John 17:20-22 My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me.
When God repeats something in His Word, he really wants us to listen up!  He seems to be saying that Christ lives in us.  As we homeschool our children, and go about our work, He is right there with us.  Jesus is our job-sharing partner.  We can rely on his strengths to balance our weaknesses. When we have situations that arise (like pregnancy!), He can help cover any deficits. To be honest, He will usually cover our sick-leave with delight-directed learning, but that doesn't make it any less valuable.  Thankfully, the Lord NEVER has a sick day.  We are job-sharing with Jesus.  He will provide what we need - and He will provide what we lack.
